What is your question?
I recently purchased a 2004 Volkswagen Beetle convertible automatic Gls I believe. I ran codes on it and got a p0715 speed sensor code. The previous owner had just done the transmission on it. When I went to replace the sensor it is not where is should be and looks like there may me a different transmission on it. There is a spot on top which has a broken looking sensor which may be it but it’s a screw in or pop in not a bolt in as suggested. If that’s it I have no idea what to buy for replacement or where the other end would plug in. Is this a common problem? The car drives and when moving from P to R or Drive is does shift hard for a second. I’m not sure about what to do but I need to fix this so I can get the light off and smog it for registration. Any advice?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Shifting is a bit rough
How long has your 2004 Volkswagen Beetle had this problem?
A couple weeks since I bought don’t know how long previously

Hi, what resources are you referring to in determining where a part "should" be? It's certainly possible that a transmission installed may not be an exact proper component for the vehicle. Can you learn more about the replacement, the source of the transmission that went in the vehicle by the previous owner, whether it was remanufactured or used? To me, it sounds like the vehicle was modified in some way -- and that it may be impossible to get this resolved with the current transmission in the vehicle. I would definitely suggest a professional local to you heave a look and weigh in. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me
