04 beetle epc loss of power

What is your question?

Battery light and epc light came on and completely lost power. Nothing from the gas pedal at all. Shut the car off and it wouldn't start back up. Almost like a dead battery. But while trying to start it windows would go up or down on their own. Could this all be just the alternator?
