Waning lights, headlights dimming, dying down

Hi, I bought the 1.6litre petrol car back in July 2009. First few months the car was fine. After that, i started to have an issue whereby, some warning lights would come on - normally the EPC, ABS, ESP. The CD player would start flickering, the head lights would go dim. I changed the battery and the lights did not come on for three weeks. Then they came back. Sometimes when i would rev the car the lights would go and headlight would become normal, CD player ok. Today, i had a low engine oil level warning. I topped it up, in the after noon same lights issue came back. I revved the car, but then low engine oil level light came on and the hand-brake light came on as well. I kept on driving but the car died down after few minutes. The car has a JVC CD player. I am upto my neck with this car-any help would be highly appreciated.

I would get the battery and charging system checked out. This sounds like low voltage, possibly from the alternator or a bad battery cable. shops in your area: http://repairpal.com/huntsville-auto-repair

Hi everyone, My problems are continuing ---------- we have since changed the alternator. In the same visit mechanic said that one of the instrument lights (alternator light) is not coming on, and that wrecked the previous alternator. I bought his opinion. He said either you change the whole of clock (instrument panel) or he would do a shortcut - which was to attach a bulb to the alternator so as to replace the missing instrument light. However, as soon as i brought the car back home the same lights are coming back on, with engine management light coming on briefly at both the time of starting and switching off the car. My worry is that real cause which affected the charging system may still be out there, battery and alternator are changed - but what impacted them may still be undetected. I dont know if i should take the car to VW dealer. can anyone help please!!!!!
