Hello, You can stop by most auto parts stores to get the trouble codes read. Unfortunately for the air bag light, you will need a scan tool with the capability to reset that light, and the issue is typically an occupant position sensor (in the seat). VW has a long history of check engine lights. Lots of funny pictures out there online, but I still love them. Have the codes read, then post them back here and I'll advise on a course of action.
I went to Singers and the guy said the thing he hooked up to the car said it was reading there was a vacuum leak or the vacuum hose is not on very well. He checked but he couldn't find any leaks or loose hoses.
Ok, and sorry for the delay, was he listening for leaks or smoke testing. Smoke testing the engine is THE way of finding vacuum leaks. If there is a vacuum leak, it will find it 99% of the time and allow you to see it occur.
No, he didn't do any of that. Could you possibly tell me how to check so i can fix it?
Ok, have it smoke tested, or you can do it yourself at home. There are lot of videos on youtube about it, even one where a guy uses a cigar.
