What is your question?
I am referring to page 452 of my Toyota Yaris iA manual, which gives detailed instructions for replacing the license plate bulbs. I have to 1) turn the ignition off (check), 2) remove the plastic retainers from the trunk lid trim (check), 3) remove the trunk lid trim (check), 4) turn the socket and bulb assembly clockwise and remove it (check), and 5) disconnect the bulb from the socket. That last part is where I'm lost. I've tried pulling on the bulb and it doesn't come out. I've tried using a pliers very gently, and that didn't work. Any ideas how I can remove the old bulb?

Hello, just really quickly -- your Toyota factory warranty should cover bulb replacement -- have them do it for free! Under 36,000 miles. My gut is that the bulb, if a "194" bulb, should just pull directly out. If It is a different style, you may have to turn the bulb in the socket to release the tabs. Again, seeking local guidance can be helpful, and likely at no charge.
Thanks for your reply. I finally figured out that I could put on a rubber glove, which gave my fingers some traction, and then I was able to pull the bulbs out and put the new ones in. Now my challenge is reinserting the retaining clips on the trunk lid trim. My dealer is pretty picky about lightbulb replacement. I got lazy a year ago or so and asked to dealer to insert some brake light bulbs that I was providing. They ended up charging me about $50 for the service, and didn't notify me in advance of the charges. They refunded the charge when I pointed out that they're supposed to give me an estimate before proceeding with work. Anyway now I hesitate to ask for help with light bulbs.
I'd contact Toyota, because I don't understand why a 2017 vehicle (assuming under 36,000 miles) would not have light bulbs as a covered component under warranty.
