What is your question?
Got new struts, mpg decreased a lot, like from 33 to about 24, and car bouncy when slowing down (after brake released). Mechanic doesn't believe me but true. What did he do?
What makes this problem better or worse?
only noticeably bouncy when coasting at slow speed, mpg went from 32 to like 25.
How long has your 2013 Toyota Yaris had this problem?
since struts replaced

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. I cannot find any reason or correlation whatsoever between strut replacement and fuel economy loss. There just isn't a direct link. "Bouncy" and ride quality differences may occur - definitely. That depends on the grade and quality of replacement struts. What was the original cause and reason for the struts to be replaced in the first place? I would like to assist but with the information shared, there is nothing I can think of. You can check with a shop near you to have an inspection for the bouncing or fuel economy -- https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
