What is your question?
I have brought my car to a mechanic a few times because my car is slow to brake when I press down on my brakes. They tell me my brake pads have 75% left on them, is it just the pads? Or should I replace them anyway. Any help is appreciated!

Hi Chelsea This is a tough one to answer ... I find I get this complaint most often after a newer car has been added to the family. The newer car stops better and so now the other car just doesn't feel like it's braking like it should. If no newer/better stopping cars have come into your life recently, then lets look at some other possible causes: When was the last time the brake fluid system was flushed out? If it's been more than three years, bleeding this system can sometimes improve pedal feel. A failing master cylinder can also cause this. Try pumping the brake pedal a few times when coming to a stop, if the pedal feel improves your brake master may have an internal leak. And finally, the rear brakes may be out of adjustment - this can also effect brake pedal feel. You hit the nail on the head, we did get a newer car and the brakes work much better! I will try your tips and if that doesn't work I will give you a call about a brake fluid system flush. Thank you so much for your help!
