When my auto headlights are on, my reverse gear shift is also on. For example, if it's parked, the reverse gear shift is on too. If it's in drive, it's in reverse too. How to fix it or what could be wrong?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. When you say the "gear shift is on" - do you mean a light? Clearly if it is in park, it cannot be in reverse gear. I am guessing you are meaning the indicator?
