On your Toyota Tundra, the P0014 code is setting for the camshaft sensor on bank 1 running too far advanced compared to where it should be. This can be caused by several things. The VVT system on this vehicle (and many others) depends heavily on correct oil pressure. So, yes. In theory, if your oil is very old and sludgy or very low, or even the wrong weight - that could in fact be the culprit. That being said, there are several other things that could cause the same code including a failed VVT solenoid, a stretched timing chain or a broken chain guide. Changing the oil and filter is a great place to start though a it is the quickest and cheapest solution. If that doesn’t resolve the code, I’d strongly recommend having a professional take a look at it.
