Hello, The shift interlock system uses the brake pedal (brake light switch) and ignition switch as inputs to release the gear selector lever. If the lever will not move after replacing the ignition switch, chances are the connector for the shift interlock solenoid (driver side of the steering column) was not reconnected. The wires could also be damaged, or you may have one heck of a coincidence on your hands. Make sure your brake lights are coming on before you tear anything apart. If the brake lights aren't coming on, the shift interlock solenoid probably cannot tell you are pressing the brake either.
