This can becaused by two things. when the computer is shut down/without power, and power is returned it goes to the factory settings. so if there is anny build up in the throttle body it will not understand were its closed thottle position is. before it was shut down it had learned it and adjusted it over time. so remove the hose that enters the intake. {with the engine not running} clean as best you can anny build up out of the throttle body. if you choose to use a spray cleaner put the cleaner on a rag and wipe out the debris. spraying liquid into the engine may cause damage... when your done take the truck for a short drive and it should start thr relearn prcedure by its self.
THANK YOU! I paid $ 200> $300 twice to have it cleaned on my: 2000 Toyota Tundra SR5, V8, 4 door, 230K+ miles, timing chain & water pump replaced at 100k miles; the cat converter and three Ox sensors replaced. One of the other answers said $1300+labor to replace TPI. Maybe it is time to replace the throttle body, with a bigger one?
