Thanks for the response. Your suggestion is Plan B for sure. I was just hoping to avoid further damage as I take it apart. The Haynes manual is not much help, but it does say to disconnect the battery to prevent activation of the air bag system and to remove the fog lamp bulbs.
Especially when something is impacted like that the normal procedure can go out the window. The two things you listed are a no brainer and definitely need to be done. Step by step investigation of what else is holding it is just gonna be looking at it. Unless like I said a body guy is on here. This is a mechanical repair/info site.
