Throttle doesn't respond.

It's at home and I started it again and the engine is reving as it should. Now what if it happens while I'm out. A fellow/friend will come by and take a look. Still need an idea what it could be. No response on the throttle pedal. Turned truck off. Tried hour later, now works like nothing wrong. Something is wrong, need to discover the problem.
