i plan to replace my timing belt, water pump, and associated parts. just wanted to know engine type. thanks cliffday

It is an interference fit engine! There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... iForce V8 = Interference V8 = Non-Interference i did mine in September... If you really took care of that truck and there is no water or oil leak you can get away just changing the belt and replacing the antifreeze..(make sure you get the exact same fluid..) BTW... there is no need to remove the water pump.... there is a cross member on top of the water pump that can be removed without the water pump...
