Airbag light stays on. Was told a recall allows dealership to repair for free because of massive Japanese product failure. What should I do?

Hello, I am not aware of any recall which is some thing that will repair a check airbag light. Sometimes the airbag inflator's are a concern with certain airbags over the years. But these will never set a warning light on. As with anything, diagnostic testing is required before you do anything. If you go to a dealership, you can have them test it, and if there is something that will cover your repairs, they will do it for you at no charge. However, if there is something wrong that is not covered by anything, the expense of repairs will be up to you, as well as the diagnostic charge. As always, you can give your vehicle identification number to a dealership near you to find out if there are any open recalls you may have missed.
