The vehicle has one evaporator core. The plenum where the evaporator and heater core both reside has passenger and temperature blend doors that regulate hot and cold temperatures as they come out each "zone" -- the driver zone and the passenger zone. One of the zones may have a blend door that is not adjusting per the temperature control settings. This can be due to a control issue, a blend door motor issue, or a plenum issue. Inspection and testing should be done to find out what is going on.
