Code says I have a ignition control module failure. I can't find the location of the module. 2002 Tacoma 2.4, 4 cyl THX !!

Hi this is Dusty, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If your Tacoma is equipped with a separate ignition module, sometimes called ignitor or ignition driver, it's most likely to be mounted to one of the fenders in the engine bay, usually the passenger side. Once you believe you've located the suspect, run quick Google search using 'Toyota (insert part number)' to verify. Be sure to verify the fault code pertains to that specific component, and check the power and ground to the unit to ensure you don't have an electrical issue causing the fault.
