What is your question?
What is the advantage of doing the following jobs at the same time? (I ask for obvious reason of expense) One Ball Joint (upper and lower) Two Tie Rods (both leaking) Rack and Pinion Full Struts Please confirm whether or not the following two statements are true: (1) An Alignment must be done after each project, if not done all at once. (2) Not doing all the above as one project could result in damage of the newly-replaced item. Can one simply patch up oil leaks if around the Tie Rods? If so, what is that called? Thank you

The tie rods are not leaking, the rack and pinion is leaking and no you can not patch that up. You need to replace the entire rack. When replacing a rack it's proper to replace the outer tie rods at the same time and you must perform an alignment after. If the ball joints have play then they should be replaced. You don't have to do these in pairs but most shops will recommend you do because if they are the same age the other side will fail shortly after. If the struts are worn out then they need to be replaced but not doing them is not going to ruin the rack. If they are really bad they could cause joints to loosen up but that's debatable. Hope this helps. Alex
