Brake pedal is stiff, when pressed nothing happens until pressed hard. Any help?

Hello, My first thought is that the vacuum booster for the brakes is leaking vacuum, so you are basically working with mechanical brakes without a mechanical advantage. The steering column and key may be due to the shift interlock cable between the shifter and the ignition switch/steering column, or the ignition switch could be causing the issue. Remove trim panels and inspect to see which is preventing the ignition switch from turning properly.
