Why is my 95 toyota t100 3.4 liter v6 bogging down. And shutting off

When i have my truck in neutral park or in gear it dont wanna idle properly when i go put it in gear. I have to hold gear keep accelerating slightly to put it in gear i can drive it but if i give it gas and not gradually accelerate it. Bogs down and dont wanna run. What could be the cause
