2006 Toyota solara won't start it will turn on all my lights and everything but it makes no noise when it tries to start

I put my key in the ignition and with my door open it'll ding I turn the key from the auxiliary position over to the start position I got dash lights everything and it's silent that don't even click or nothing I had messed with my battery for a while my cables and terminals and it was eventually start so I'm assuming that it's probably something to do with my battery cables or wires to my posts I've got it started by wiggling the terminals and then it won't start
