when struts are bad you need to change both?

I agree it is best to replace both struts if you can afford it at this time. But if things are tough for you like it is for many right now, one can be done with either a used or new replacment part, just dont expect an ideal ride. Be VERY carefull if you have to go used, rember the one on your right rear is allready a used part, some people will sell you anything. You dont need that headache and remember you are going to pay the same labor new or used for the most part. Paying labor twice does you no good when trying to save money ! Do the best you can to do it right the first time. New will pay off in longer life,better ride and safty. Good luck to you ! Tom
