What is your question?
Roughly 6 months ago the shifter cable broke my husband bought the part and took it to our mechanic to fix it it cost around 800$. We had the car back a week and it broke again I don't know how but it did so we repeated the whole process. Fast forward to last week the car shifted fine the stopped got gas went to start and my gear shift was completely free like cable had broke again. Called husband, to come before we left I figured I'll try again and it shifted fine it did it 4 times this week shifted then wouldn't shift wait 20 min. And it would shift fine well now it won't shift at all. If it is a broke cable how in the world can a3 cables break-in 6 months when put on by a professional mechanic.

Hello, if the shift lever worked after waiting, I'm not sure how it could be a "broken cable". It can't fix itself. Sounds like some kind of shift lever or transmission concern that is beyond just a cable failure. Hands on testing is needed while the problem is occurring to know what's happening and what needs to be done to resolve the problem. This warrants some professional assistance to keep from having all these break downs. Use this link to find some shops near you that can help with your concern: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
Well my mechanic, just called me and told me that it qas the shifter cable again. I am just mind blown, I have now gone threw 3 cables in 6 months that is just unheard of. I have taken all my cars to this same shop for 20 plus years, and I know no one is perfect but there has to be something else going on here. He said it is starting to pull apart. I just messaged the dealership firstly for a new part then I'm gonna see how much they are going to charge if I would have them fix it.
