The brakes are very soft. Push down far to stop.

I just got into an accident on the freeway. My brakes were soft, it didn't even slow my car. I even pumped the brakes 2x and it still didn't slow it down fast enough like it should of been. My brakes are new also. I braked given ample time to slow down but the van didn't slow down like it should of.
