What is power drop off and how to fix?

2012 Sequoia (on Tundra chasis I believe) suddenly has been giving me "power drop offs." Meaning sudden loss of power at freeway speeds and also starting out from a turn in an intersection. I have an appointment with a dealer in a few days, but the service rep did not recognize the problem.
