What is your question?
I’ve had my truck into the shop for front and back brakes. After the new brakses it has been squeaking intermittently since then. I was first told it was their machine not cutting properly and second time I was told it was rusty brake pin and it was replaced. Two weeks later the same noise and now he’s trying to tell me it’s due to rust. I’m hesitant to believe this. I think their machine didn’t space properly or cut the rotors properly. It is a long squeaking or humming as if metal in metal is scraping. It’s periodic and doesn’t happen everyday.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It’s worse after a long stop at light or sign after the brake has been pressed
How long has your 2004 Toyota Sequoia had this problem?
One month

Hello, squeaking is generally a result of the brake pads moving ever so slightly in the brake caliper and bracket. This can be due to the surfaces being dissimilar (hot spots, ridges on the brake rotors), the brake pad retaining clips not securing the pads properly, the brake pads not being the best fit for the vehicle (quality of aftermarket verses original equipment Toyota pads...)... There are multiple possible causes of brake squeaking, unfortunately, and It can take some time and effort to reduce it. Keep in mind it's more an annoyance than an actual problem.
