Check engine light comes on and also the AWD light.

What is your question?

My mechanic found it was the Evap code PO441. Suggested replacing gas cap. That worked for a while, then light came on again. I opened the gas cap and left it off for a few hours. A couple of days later, the light went out. This has happened several times. What is happening? (My mechanic has disappeared, so I can't ask him)
