Why does car stall after pushing start won't stay running . Takes many trys to start

Twice now my 2011 Rav4 V6 has stalled out after starting or not start at all. After pushing start button sounds like it's going to start. It turns off all dash light and start button is not lite either. I have tryed after many attempts to to start.
I've notice that car is
getting poor gas milage, I have also notice it sound to be idling ruff , not smooth or steady.
I make sure its in park by moving shifter.
I checked all fluids. oil change up to date. Rav4 has V6. No leaks.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It seem to be after it's been running awhile. It's been hot days.
