Hey guys I just wanted an opinion because i can’t seem to get any answers from forums and youtube. I have a 2008 toyota rav4 and it has a P0793 code. And a very stuck and hard shift from 2nd to 3rd. I changed the speed sensor that is directly under the battery tray hoping that it would solve this. I bought a cheap $11 amazon part which is on me and it made the shifting worse. i’m about to buy this aisen oem one but I just wanted to ask and make sure if there are 2 identical speed sensors (input & output) and if should buy 2? If so are they the exact same part just 2 sensors? If anyone knows which sensor is the in and out and where they are located please let me know.

Hello, as you've determined, code pertains to the intermediate shaft speed sensor for the transmission. And yes, it's the one located under the battery tray area best I can tell. The problem is: is the sensor failed? Is it a wiring concern? Any wiring damage present? Is it a driven gear inside the transmission causing the signal issue instead of a sensor?
It is a correct idea and best practice to go with a Toyota original equipment sensor. As you've gone this far, definitely get a known correct sensor into the vehicle. After that, in the event the problem remains, you'll need to get some testing done to see what's going on.
