Would my check engine come on if the brake switch was bad?

I noticed my brake lights were staying on when the engine is off, brake switch obviously. I pulled the fuse so my battery wouldn't die. Today when I put the fuse back in the check engine light came on, is this related? How long have you had this problem? Just stared today

I can't say for sure, but the way to find out is to have a test performed to see what failure codes are in the engine's processor causing the light to come on. Certainly, pulling and reinstalling the fuse is a variable that occurred, so I would definitely check.
