What is your question?
I took my mom Prius to Toyota because the check engine light came on. The only problem was when I started the Prius in the morning the air filter box would shake if I held it down it would stop. If I was pulling out of drive thru or taking off at a street light it would shake. No other problems. I was immediately told it was a bad head gasket. The dealership told me I had 3 codes on my car P0300, P0302 & P0304 and it would cost $3150. Now Toyota is saying there's other problems and they will tell my mom tomorrow because they didn't know today. Does this sound correct a blown head gasket the Prius has 167k miles. Also there is a recall for a bad invertor assembly. Which can throw any code on the dash even if there is no problem just the inverter is bad. The invertor cost $3k but would be free to us because it's a recall. Thanks.
What makes this problem better or worse?
If I stop driving for a couple minutes or if I punch the gas it goes away.
How long has your 2013 Toyota Prius had this problem?
Since the 3rd of May

So, sure, maybe there could be a head gasket leak on this vehicle. But that doesn't check out based on the symptoms you have shared. Still, diagnostic testing by professional, skilled and trained technicians should provide you with accurate results. You certainly have the right to get a second opinion from another repair shop, and it might not be a bad idea if you are not feeling comfortable with the information. Also a resource is consulting the service management at the dealership to get more clear information if you are not happy with what the advisor is sharing.
