What is your question?
I Previously used Blue Devil gasket sealer, that worked perfect for 2-Yrs until the head gasket(again)began to leak into the cylinder head.... So i Replaced: Water Pump, Thermostat, Radiator, Heat Sensor, yet the Red overheat dash light, still turns on whenever a load is placed on the motor, So i replaced the motor with a new rebuild...yet i still have the very same heating issues between 65-to-70? I just noticed that the Heater does Not heat up the vehicle? Should i replace the Heater Core? maybe still plugged w.Blue Devil? i need an expert opinion, should i replace the heater core, or is there any other parts that are making the red Overheat Dummy Light turn on?
What makes this problem better or worse?
whenever i hit 66+ up a light grade, the Dummy Light turns on!
How long has your 2010 Toyota Prius had this problem?
6-Months

Hello, I'm sorry, as soon as you indicated you suspect there is a cylinder head sealing issue and that you've used a stop leak gasket sealer, I really can't help you. And nobody here really can. Use of those "sealants" are not reliable ways to repair vehicles. In fact, you can cause more problems than you'll ever fix. Now you have a variable that you'll never know the extent of impact of. Since added Blue Devil, and drove it without issues for 2yrs, until the motor began to chug and then i replaced the Motor, New Thermostat, New Water-Pump, New Coolant Heat Sensor, and a New Radiator, and although the red dummy light Never turns on. during normal driving speeds around town, the issues begin when i get on the Hiway, and place a heavier load of 65+...then the Red Overheat Dummy Light turns on, for a few momentary miles, then goes out, and never turns on after that, (((But the Heater does Not heat up inside car?))) is the Heater Core plugged or? Should i replace heater Core? is it plugged? All Fans, and AC work fine? We are 70yrs old and struggle on our monthly S.S.I. Checks, and cannot afford to replace our perfect driving Prius...BUT WHY DOES THE HEATER NOT WORK, OR WARM UP THE PASSENGER CABIN?
Understand completely, and when your SSI Income is Not enough to cover your monthly overhead...One gets desperate especially after the dealer tells me the fix for a new head gasket or possibly cracked Head would cost a minimum of $6500. and the though of replacing the motor w.a used one made the best sense, and if i were to do so, id be crazy Not to at least try the Blue Devil, and for $60.00 the problem went away for 2yrs! But eventually all good things come to an end, and i changed the motor, and the over heating issues began to pop up at 65mph, and one by one, i replaced the Coolant Heat Sensor, Water Pump, Thermostat, Radiator, and the Red Dummy Light still pops up at 65mph, and i just realized the Heater does not heat up the car's cabin? si do i replace the Heater Core that might be plugged by the older Blue Devil, before the engine replacement? Help???
