could lower grade gas cause a Prius to lose power while driving

I began losing power while on highway about 10 minutes after fueling up. i believe i put in regular octane 85 instead of plus gas. The tank was nearly empty when i filled up. Its was nighttime. No lights went on. Could it have been gas. Dealer said they had no idea what would cause it, if no lights went on. I am scheduled to drive out of town again in 4 days ans am afraid it may happen again.
What makes this problem better or worse?
