What is your question?
Tonite I just put a deposit down on a used 2002 Prius with 125,000 miles. Seller claims that all service was done by Toyota Dealer who never mentioned replacement of timing belt? My question is...why? Is it a chain instead of belt? Should I be concerned that I'd be driving on borrowed time? Please reply

Your car has a timing chain. No timing belt. Be sure previous owner has proof that all the regular service including oil changes have been done on schedule. Also as this engine has a replaceable chain tensioner listen for any timing chain noise.
It is a belt. While I do not suggest this, I bought my 2002 Toyota Prius with 64,000+ miles. Today I hit 225,000 miles and still on original belt. Labor and part is only about $70. Buy the car, replace the belt and continue to smile about your fuel savings!!
