The SAD job is difficult job, but not impossible for anyone with some tools and patience. Did I mention patience? Tool you'll need: 6mm ellen wrech 12mm socket 12mm wrench 12" extension. 10mm wrech 14 mm socket I've done this many times, but I wont be able to explain to you step by step, when you get into it, you'll know what to do. To make the job easier: 1) remove the fan clutch (so you won't damage the radiator later) 2) remove the SAD bracket and rubber mounting. 3) remove the nuts the hold the accessory equpment frame under van . 4)remove the inner coupler at the crank shaft. 5) remove the outter coupler. 6.Lift the whole accessory equipment assembly forward to create more room to remove the shaft. By tilting the frame that hold the acc equipment forward at an angle, you can remove the whole SAD shaft. This is what I normally do to be sure that the coupler is installed properly. You'll be sad when you start tearing into it, that's why it's called SAD...lol. Feel free to call me if you're in the mud. I don't mind at all. I can walk you through. Good luck,
This answer does not answer the question. He didn't ask how to do it, he asked how to BALANCE the shaft. Which is what I also need to know.
If you have the correct couplers: 12.5mm for '91-'93, 14mm for '94-'97 and installed them properly, you would not need to balance them. The rubber webs that are built in the aluminum housings would absorb the small imbalance and small vibrations, that what they were made for. I have replaced countless of couplers before and did one two of weeks ago and I never had to balance them. I hope this answers your question.
