Must still be a bolt holding the pump on somewhere. Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info or there is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers. You can get a one week subscription or year subscription very cheap. The information is year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... great quality information same as the professionals have ,much better than generic workshop manuals from parts stores, much cheaper than the factory manual try http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online and get an online repair manual subscription.
I had nightmares with a 92 previa overheating, changed the thermostat, radiator and was going to change the water pump, so...I bought a new pump from NAPA look at it and came to the conclusion that this pump is bullet proof. put my fingers inside the opening of the thermostat and see if the pump blades were loose, so....there were tight, the only way the pump would not work is if the engine did not drive it, the engine runs fine...so the pump is OK. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THE PUMP IS BAD??? this is my 3rd day working on my previa so I decided to leave the thermostat open flush everything I could, the small hoses, radiator hoses etc with a water hose at 50 pounds, water run up and down all over.....guess what, the little 6" hose going from the radiator top to the @##$$%$$&^ reservoire, that stupid white tank was plugged, full of who knows what junk, I replaced it and run the car just with water for 1/2 hour with no thermostat and it never got hot, I had to place a cardboard in front of the radiator to raise the temperature and tomorrow I will install the new thermostat and hope everything goes OK for another 200K miles. The cooling system in this car is difficult but when it runs it is fine.
