What is your question?
It’s a rare van 1991 Toyota townace with turbo diesel 2c-t engine not a Toyota previa (there was no townace option) white Smoke coming out of exhaust when in idle, no coolant leaks and coolant looks good. Also smoke gets better when oil cap comes off, car has 56,000 miles and sat for a couple years sometime I think. Smoke goes away when on throttle and comes back as soon as you lift of the gas pedal completely
What makes this problem better or worse?
Getting on throttle at idle or in drive. Removing oil cap
How long has your 1991 Toyota Previa had this problem?
3 days maybe longer just bought the car

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. A Toyota TownAce in 19991 is not a North American exported vehicle. The Van Wagon was last sold in the US in 1989. None were produced with Diesel engines -- so this is definitely all going to be guesswork, as your vehicle was imported into the US as a non US vehicle. I'm not sure what to suggest, as this vehicle has no American technical resources to draw on. You will also probably have problems finding a technician who can work on it and parts that can be easily obtained. White smoke is typically water vapor or coolant related. If the smoke is blue or grey, it's more oil based. If it's black it's usually fuel based. Sounds more like a possible oil consumption or blow by issue instead as a less white and more blue smoke concern.
