..it loses power, and as I push on gas- no power, but its still running. I ususally pull over wait for it to cool down. then start it up and it drives fine again... untill it warms up. I started by adding sea foam fuel cleaner. Then cleaned distributor rotor and contact points, changed spark plugs, and wires. (it has 117,000 miles on it. I am not original owner, so I don't know what has been replaced on it)

I would verify fuel pressure using a fuel pressure gauge taped to the wind screen and see if fuel pressure is dropping off (fuel pressure should be 33 to 37 psi at idle 38 to 44 psi at wide open throttle). When it does loose power remove the fuel pressure cap see if there is a vacuum being created in the tank. Perhaps the exhaust is getting restricted you would need to verify back pressure. There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... Alldata is very easy to navigate http://bit.ly/AllData_Repair_Manuals_Online
Thank you for your help. I am having Toyota plug it in tomorrow, to see what they come up with. Do you recommend them check fuel pressure there? (I also want them to check timing belt...)Anything else you recommend me having them check while there? thank you, Eric I will check out on line manuals. I was looking for a good manual site!
