4wd shifter slipped out of normal channel

it sounds as if either the linkage for the shift lever has broken or seized. does the lever move at all, was it hard to shift into 4wd? have you tried shifting with the engine off sometime that helps.

well if its anything like my shifter you probably got into 4wd low sometimes it helps to shift it while backing up
