What is your question?
Check engine light on, codes lead to evap canister. The Evap canister has been replaced twice in a two year period. During that time the light mostly remained off, came on once and mechanic said there were no codes so reset it, came again recently and codes indicate evap canister.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Possibly the cold weather, but codes point to evac system
How long has your 2006 Toyota Matrix had this problem?
Evap canister has been replaced twice, they don’t know what else it could be

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Matrix. If the check engine light keeps coming back with EVAP system codes despite having the canister replaced twice, there may be another issue within the EVAP system. It could be a faulty purge valve, vent valve, or even a leak in the EVAP hoses or gas cap. Cold weather can make EVAP system components more prone to failure because of contraction, so it's possible that's contributing to the issue. A smoke test may help detect small leaks that could be triggering the light.
