Replaced steering column and intermediate shaft. Car started intermittently not starting until push start was pushed three or four times. Was told it was a bad steering lock actuator. Technician now says the car won’t start with the new steering lock actuator.
How long has your 2016 Toyota Highlander had this problem?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Highlander. Given the proximity of the steering lock actuator and ignition components to the steering column, it is a good idea to review the prior repairs to ensure all parts were installed correctly and no wiring was damaged. There could also be problems with other components in the starting system, such as the ID code box or immobilizer ecu. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
