What is your question?
TOTALLY means the engine does not crank at all; the only response is a ‘click, click, clicking ….’ sound; occasionally the starter button ‘sticks’ and the ‘clicking’ sound continues until the starter button is “vigorously” tapped (more pressure than is necessary to start the vehicle). The Service Depts at the two ‘local’ Toyota Dealerships ( 30 mi & 60 mi) both came up with the same ?fix?: “DRIVE IT MORE”! Evidently they have no clue either. How come the wife’s 2016 Sienna van (12931 mi), until recently driven much less, has always started. The last 6 weeks I have purposely started the Vehicle only once a week, driven less than 10 miles each time and never opened the tailgate, I just tried again to be sure, and it’s started each time. I’m no mechanic, but it appears that some circuit in the tailgate either draws two much power or isn’t closing.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Not using the tailgate
