What is your question?
Out of no where i have been having lights come on my dash trac/ hazard, engine check VSC system all at the same time, my auto shop changed the coil but it has come back on and off like before. Also now when i use the brake pedal i feel like the pedal is going to come apart or my engine will fall through, it make a knocking sound and jerks and pulses. I have taken it to 3 shops, they say their is nothing they can do, my brakes/ rotors fine . I had a sensor replaced but that didnt help.I love my car and only drive less than a mile a day so i dont have to use the brakes.
What makes this problem better or worse?
happens every day

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Highlander. Your description points to a potentially complex issue involving multiple systems. The pulsing and jerking when braking could be caused by an ABS malfunction, especially since you also see VSC and traction control warning lights. This might indicate a faulty ABS wheel speed sensor, a failing ABS module, or an issue with the brake booster. The knocking sound and engine-like vibrations you feel could be linked to worn or broken engine mounts. Damaged mounts can cause the engine to shift excessively during braking, making it feel like it's about to fall out. Another possibility is a malfunction in the traction control system, which could mistakenly activate during braking. Although shops have told you that the brakes and rotors are fine, it is worth getting a second opinion. Worn brake components can cause many of the symptoms you are experiencing. It's concerning that previous shops couldn't help. A thorough diagnostic scan is critical to get to the root of the problem. It's important to use a scanner that can access ABS, traction control, and VSC codes. Finding a shop experienced with Toyota systems or taking it to a dealership may provide better insights.
