What is your question?
Is my engine design Interference or Non-Interference? VVT-i 3.3L V6. 3MZ-FE.

Yes, this is an INTERFERENCE engine. Timing belt replacement interval: 90,000 miles or 72 months. Zee
Thanks. Two service advisors on two different days at my local Toyota dealership both said the 3MZ-FE engine on my Highlander is NON-INTERFERENCE and no damage will happen if the belt breaks. One of them said only the V8 engines are Interference. A mechanic at a local Toyota specialty shop also said it is NON. Regardless, I just had the dealership replace the belt at 72 months/122k. I not taking the chance.
Well, I checked again on the 2008 edition of the Timing Belt book by Autodata, page 868, the 2004-2008 3MZ-FE engine is identified as an Interference Engine. I also talked to 2 different Toyota tech, 1 said it's Freewheeling the other said it's Interference. I'll try to get a Toyota spec on this. Zee
