What is your question?
I stalled out in high water but was able to get my car re-started after a few tries. About a month later it threw a rod (engine gone) going to work (car seemed to be running fine so it caught me by surprise). It only has 63,000 miles and maintenance is up to date. Insurance is denying my claim for water damage/hydrolock saying it must have been simple mechanical failure. Does this sound right?

Hello, yes, it sounds like damage was probably done by trying to start your car after stalling in high water, and once you forced it to restart, it continued to rapidly deteriorate due to contamination. In order to prove the failure due to water contamination, you may have to have the engine torn down to validate the concern - as evidence will be present if water played a part in the failure.
