If the gauge remains in the same range it indicates the engine is most likely operating at the correct temperature but the gauge and/or sender may be slightly out of calibration. The thermostat may also be running a little high as well. You can have it checked relatively easily at a local service center that uses Raytek portable temperature sensor gun.
