What is your question?
I am petite, 5'1", so I am very worried that because I sit close to the steering column the airbag might deploy and seriously injure me. What should I do? I have to drive to work tomorrow early, so going to a dealer is out of the question. Thanks!

No, it won't deploy, unless you are in an accident. The light is for a problem detected in the system that needs to be rectified. Usual culprits are a loose wire or harness under the front seats for the system. Also, could be a failing clock spring in the steering wheel. I would check the harnesses under the seats first. Inspect, separate, clean and reconnect if they look okay and see if the issue is resolved.
Thank you! I appreciate your help. I started the car this morning, and the light didn't go on. Looks like whatever the problem was corrected itself. But if it happens again, I'll have someone check the wiring. Just good to know there wasn't an imminent threat of airbag deployment; much obliged.
Great, then I suspect It is just a loose wire harness under the seat. Next time the light comes on, move the driver and passenger seats forward and back and see if the light turns off and you will have found the problem.
Will try at lunchtime. Thank you so very much! I really appreciate your (potentially) sparing me a trip to the very expensive mechanic. Much appreciated!!
My SRS warning light is on as well. I will try these tips. Thank you!
