open door light wont turn off, located bottom left corner of speedometer

Look in the door jamb area and see if the switch is damaged, the switch on a lot of new cars (and I think you Corolla) is part of the door locking mechanism in the door itself the door trim panel needs to be removed and the two wires to the switch disconnected/ bridged (depending on type of circuit) to see if the light then goes off.
