engine burning too much oil

Yes, thats high oil consumption for a 4 cyl. engine. Without tearing the engine block down to determine where the high oil useage is stemming from (worn rings, worn valve guides, scored cylinder walls, head gasket), all you can do is use an over-the-counter engine treatment (like " Engine Restore") available at any autoparts store. It will slow the oil burning/useage but not stop it.
