timing belt failed. no dam to eng. whats cheapst cost i can hope for to repl belt & reset timing? thx!

There is cheap and then there is right way. The car is 18 years old. You should replace the water pump and idler and tensioner pulleys also. That's the correct way.
I agree with Matco57 if the timing belt broke it was due to neglected maintenance,the water pump, oil seals and timing belt tensioner's life are not far behind.
